OK….. HERE WE GO…I AM A LESBIAN, HAVE BEEN SO FOR 10+ YEARS. HOWEVER, I AM, BEFORE ANYTHING, A CHILD OF GOD, AND FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE IS WRONG. TO ME, RAISED AS A CHRISTIAN, MARRIAGE IS A VOW BEFORE GOD AND HOMOSEXUALITY IS A SIN… SO HOW CAN YOU TAKE A VOW OF SIN BEFORE GOD? I AM NOT SAYING THAT A PERSON DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE AND DO WHAT THEY PLEASE, AFTERALL, THATS WHY GOD GAVE US FREE WILL. BUT I THINK A LOT OF TIMES HOMOSEXUALS GET CAUGHT UP IN ALWAYS DEFENDING THIER CHOICES, THAT THEY CAN’T AND WONT FULLY ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR OWN PROBLEMS AND SHORT COMINGS. THE BIBLE ONLY MENTIONS HOMOSEXUALITY TWICE, AND I HAVE READ MORE THAN THE KING JAMES VERSION. I AM PROUD OF WHO I AM… BUT TO PLACE WHAT I DO IN THE BEDROOM BEFORE MY MOST FUNDAMENTAL BELIEFS IS SOMETHING I COULD NEVER PHANTHOM. I DONT FEEL I AM GOING TO HELL NOR DO I BELIEVE THAT GOD HATES HOMOSEXUALS… BUT HIS ONLY REAL REQUEST FROM US WAS TO BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY…. HOW CAN YOU PROCREATE WITH A PERSON OF THE SAME SEX? I FEEL HOMOSEXUALS SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE JOINED IN A FORM OF UNION, (COMMITMENT CEREMONY) BUT FOR ME, MARRIAGE IS TOO SACRED A TITLE. AND FOR THAT REASON I WILL NEVER “MARRY” ANOTHER WOMAN. I WILL SUPPORT POEPLE WHO DECIDE THATS WHAT THEY WANT… I WAS JUST IN two OF MY OLDEST FRIENDS WEDDING, A LESBIAN COUPLE, THREW THE BRIDAL SHOWER AND ALL…. BUT THATS A CHOICE FOR THEM, NOT FOR ME.

    Lady Tiger,

I truly feel sorry for you that you believe your life is a sin. You believe homosexuality is a sin, yet claim the title of Lesbian. That makes your life a sin, does it not? I have no problem with other peoples beliefs, even when I firmly believe them to be wrong…what I do have a problem with is when those people push their beliefs onto me so strongly that they take away my freedom.

“Almighty God created the races white, black, yellow, malay and red, and he placed them on separate continents. And but for the interference with his arrangement there would be no cause for such marriages. The fact that he separated the races shows that he did not intend for the races to mix.” – Leon Bazile (Trial judge January 6, 1959) Loving vs Virginia

Do you also believe this? Our country has matured beyond such obvious idiotic beliefs, and one day soon we will mature enough to understand that taking away someone’s rights because of a particular religious interpretation is not ok.

This country was NOT founded in Christianity, it was however determined that there should be a separation of church and state. If religious belief is why you don’t support same sex marriage then that is something for you to fight out with yourself. However making or voting for laws, enforced through the “state” that make same sex marriage illegal is pushing your religious beliefs down my throat and into the court room.

I wish you peace and future acceptance of yourself.

I AM A SINNER… SO ARE YOU…. ALL HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD, BUT LET HE AMONG US WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE…. I AM VERY COMFORTABLE IN MY SKIN AND NOT ASHAMED IN ANY WAY FOR MY CHOICES IN LIFE. A LONG TIME AGO I MOVED PAST JUST HAVING A RELIGION AND DEVELOPED A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. HE IS THE HEAD OF MY LIFE. I KNOW HE KNOWS MY HEART AND KNOWS THAT NONE OF MY ACTIONS IN THIS LIFE IS INTENDED TO OFFEND HIM. BUT I REFUSE TO PUT ON BLINDERS BECAUSE SOMETHING I KNOW IS WRONG FEELS NATURAL. ONCE AGAIN, BECAUSE IM A LESBIAN, THAT DOESN'T MEAN I GET TO EXCUSE MY SINS. IM AM IMPERFECT AND MY FATHER KNEW THAT WHEN HE CREATED ME.

I AM NOT AT ALL SAYING THAT I FEEL THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH GAY MARRIAGE IF THATS WHAT A PERSON CHOOSES TO DO, BUT SIMPLY THAT IT IS NOT A CHOICE FOR ME. I UNDERSTAND THE FEELINGS OF HOMOSEXUALS THAT CHOOSE TO MARRY OTHERS OF THE SAME SEX, I RESPECT THEM FOR THAT DECISION, AND I SUPPORT THEM IN THAT… BUT, FOR ME, AS A CHRISTIAN FIRST, THEN AN AFRICAN AMERICAN, THEN A WOMAN, THEN MANY OTHER THINGS… MY PREFERENCE IS ONE OF THE SMALLEST PARTS OF ME… AND TO BASE SO MANY OF MY BELIEFS OFF OF WHAT I DO IN THE BEDROOM IS, AGAIN, SAD.

I FEEL A PERSON HAS A RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF CHOICE, IF THATS WHAT YOU WANT FINE, BUT I WILL NEVER SUPPORT AS A WHOLE THE INSTITUTION OR CONCEPTS OF GAY MARRIAGE SIMPLY BECAUSE OF WHAT MARRIAGE MEANS TO ME.

  6. LADY TIGER says:

    mspachy,

AND YOU DONT HAVE TO FEEL SORRY FOR ME…. TRUST ME, I AM TRULY AT PEACE WITH MYSELF, MY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY CREATOR, MY CHOICES AND MY LIFESTYLE.

MY SUGGESTIONS TO A LOT OF HOMOSEXUALS…. BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF AND GOD FIRST, AND ALL OTHER THINGS WILL WORK ITSELF OUT. NUTURE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM FIRST AND YOU WILL BE ASTOUNDED WITH THE OUTCOMES…

    • Knowledge says:

You assume that all homosexuals believe in God. You assume that they believe in the same God as you. You assume that they haven’t been honest with themselves about their lifestyle whether it’s choice or how they were born. You assume too many things. It is a selfish and dangerous mindset that I hear day in and day out from Christians and non-Christians alike. Not everyone believes as you do. This is why religion does not belong in this debate. People believe differently. Period. This country wasn’t founded on religion and I don’t want laws that will affect me to be enforced based on someone else’s beliefs. I want the only belief it’s based on to be about human rights, civil rights, civil liberties and respect for love and family. To think that people honestly believe God has a problem with people being treated like human beings…. blows my mind.

  7. Meshia says:

You couldn't have said it any better Swag. When you look at it from that perspective it just seems so insane that we're even debating whether or not to grant each individual their God Given Rights as human beings.

  8. Jennifer says:

aw man. great discussion. in all my ignorance, it never crossed my mind that there would b gays who were against gays being married. silly me.

  9. Chanel says:

The title of this post alone made my blood pressure go up.
