They are in many ways similar and different. I think those who were a part of the civil rights movement, the original leaders, say it best when they say the fight for equal rights is not resigned to one particular race or thing. If its a human rights issue, it's a civil rights issue. If a civil libery is being denied, it needs to be addressed and the measures necessary mirror a different time in our history then so be it.

hmm I always thought that the civil rights movement and the LGBT movement was similar yet two very different movements…if you can understand what I'm saying.

Oh this is the perfect adjunct to my post. Love it! Yes, so few people know about Mr. Rustin. I think I 1st found out about him in high school (i was still questioning myself back then) and I was just so in awe of him and the amount of strength and courage it took to battle both fronts…Thanks 4 the link up
