Today is Zoey’s 8th day on earth and I couldn’t be happier to come home to the little precious bundle every night. I work during the day so I spend as much time with her in the evenings and mornings as I can. I’ve changed more pampers than I care to count, and I know it’s only the beginning. The memories I savor most are those small changes I notice in my daughter every new day of her life. Her features are forming, her skin is peeling (which is common), her limbs are still so tiny and fragile, but I know they are growing and getting the necessary exercise throughout the day.
She is even-tempered, only stirring when she’s hungry, needs to be changed, or hears our voices and wants to be closer to her mommys. She is precious, adorable, and so many other gushy words I’d like to use to describe the little one. Mommy is tired a lot, but a great milestone was seeing her breasts finally start pumping milk at a rate faster than the Comcast turtles surfing the Internet. Zoey doesn’t let a drop of breast-milk flow from her mouth once she starts suckling. She loves it more than the formula. I have not tasted it, but damn, it must be some good stuff the way Zoey takes it all in!
She’s currently 6.9 oz and still fitting into all of her newborn clothes. She is growing, and so am I. This little girl has changed my life forever
