Can the super committee save the US economy?
November 15, 2011 · 6 Comments
One of the biggest jokes in Washington is when it comes time to balance the federal budget. It’s when Democrats, Republicans and Independents all take a seat at the proverbial roundtable in a pre-emptive effort to balance or bring some kind of legitimacy and clarity to America’s great big budget. All of this to prevent the government from shutting down. image from canslerconsulting.com They put on a big production staring all the famous political actors, and then go on about the business of deciding which non-defense related discretionary spending programs to freeze or cut. She is an Egyptian/Sudanese-American, award-winning novelist, poet, television writer, activist, and one of the many women entangled in the life of one of America’s Most Wanted Individuals – Osama Bin Laden. Kola Boof, mistress and confidant of the well-known terrorist responsible for the many lives lost during the 9/11 World Trade attacks, came out not long after the death of Osama, revealing their insane relationship that began with the rape he conducted against her the first night they met. She describes “Somi” (her nickname given to Osama) as a “monster, genius, poet, racist, woman-basher,... [Read the full story]

Re-Introducing Rebel & Rene

I’m not easily impressed, but I was impressed from the start with her ability to captivate an audience with a unique writing style full of prose, poise, and excellent story telling. Her pen carried with it a certain grace that was evident to me, and many others by the looks of her comment section, from the start. While I tend to be long-winded in my writing, she would seemingly get straight to the point, not concerned with beating around the bush unless there was a bush that needed beating. One thing that stood out was how I would never get bored of her posts no matter how many of them I’d... [Read the full story]

What describes this super intense Longing, aching, rumbling feeling Can’t quite concentrate on anything without any meaning Except on how to keep our boat from reeling And how your body is the fruit that I see myself peeling How my spirit is searing With the passion of an electrified charge How your protons push my buttons Particles strum chords across my heart, and it understates the understanding Of this intense physical need And how you produce within me Such a power that I concede So strong is my desire For you – it bleeds And hinges on everything That I can’t fully conceive Of... “You can close your eyes to things you don’t want to see, but you can’t close your heart to things you don’t want to feel no matter how hard you try.” That quote is in reference to just some of the things I have been feeling quite deeply lately. I’ve had a lot on my mind, and much of it has to do with cancer. I can’t remember the last time my mind wasn’t focused on my partner’s battle with this destructive disease. It’s been a little over seven months since the day she was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer following... [Read the full story]

Intense emotional affairs are the hardest to end. Believing and acknowledging that you are in love with your affair partner can be a repelling thought and one that is difficult to digest when contemplating leaving the affair behind. Emotionally severing ties with an individual that impacts your life on a daily level, providing a constant dose of emotional high is, in a word, a heartbreaking occurrence. So just know that if you are serious about ending the affair your heart will be broken, at least for a little while. It will affect the things you do, the people around you, and your relationship... This time of year has historically been a difficult challenge, especially in terms of love and relationships. Over the course of my dating life the transition from fall to winter has not only been seasonal but also deeply emotional for me. I often try to block out the reasons why this occurs. Like I won’t eventually...

In light of the recent Wall Street protests I thought I’d chime in with why I believe the American Fall, as opposed to the Arab Spring, has officially begun. We live in a country where laws are established to protect the masses from harm. We go as far as we can to stop or prevent behavior that entices and...

The first few months following my daughter’s birth were an absolute whirlwind. Primarily a result of my increasing insecurity, exacerbated by semi-crippling anxiety about whether or not I’d be the best parent I could possibly be for her. I worried that our bond would be negatively impacted if our legal...

Every day I reflect on the person I am becoming. There are times when eliminating toxic things and people from my world take their...

My quest for knowledge revolves around the search for truth, pure and unadulterated. Consequently, the quasi-knowledge I once held evolves while in search of its very distant cousin; truth. I set myself to task to write about this cancer journey with the diligence necessary to overcome the slight depression that had come down on me.
